This species was formerly known as Ochlodes venatus. It is superficially similar to the Silver-spotted Skipper (Hesperia comma). The unh spots tend to be a paler version of the orange-brown ground colour whereas comma's spots are distinctly white. The uppersides are quite similar, and an underside view is probably needed for a confident ID.
16255: a male, with a ground colour so pale it could almost be confused with the Small Skipper (Thymelicus sylvestris) but the black heavy sex brand is a sure pointer to sylvanus. Altitude 780m.
13450: a male, as indicated by the strong black sex brands on the upf. Altitude 320m.
04_355-33: a female, as indicated by the absence of a sex brand.
