Glandon is a high altitude species being found in the Alps and the Pyrenees in France. The lower end of the altitude range is around 1800m. The male is a rather dull grey blue and slightly smaller than the average Common Blue and is often seen puddling. I have encountered glandon only three times in the French Alps, each time a single male, and on each occasion it was puddling and quite hard to spot. I have never seen a female. I have seen it on three occasions in Switzerland, where it seems a little more frequent.

13171: a typical male, puddling as always.

13036: a typical male underside, still puddling.
